My Dad served in the RAN during the Korean War, and I am trying to find more information (and possibly photos) of his service. Previously thought to have served on HMAS Bataan, additional research has now led me to believe he may have served on HMAS Sydney under the name of Alexander John EMERY (a relative's name, as he was under age at time of enlistment). He was commonly known by his nickname "Tex". If anyone is able to offer information on my Dad and his service I would be truly grateful. Thank you in advance.

It's great to see a website dedicated to Korean Vets so congratulations to those responsible. I served in HMAS Culgoa and our association meets once a year for a reunion, though regretfully the numbers are dwindling. Cheerio to all Korvets - particularly Navy.

My cousin Pte.John Alfred Mealing 9696 was Killed in the battle of Kapyong on 24/4/1951 aged 21 he was a member of 3RAR. Are there any veterans who fought with him or remember him. My brother visited Pusan last year and said John is resting in a beautiful place in the memorial cemetry. Thanks to all war veterans and to John. I wish I could have known him

I have uncovered my fathers medals and learnt after all this time that he was involved in the Battle of Kapyong. My father died with all his thoughts and I am now finding out how great a man he was. Can anyone give me information on how to renovate the ribbons on dads medals or where I can get the medals reconditioned. Also anyone remember dad, be happy to hear from you. Great web site.

My father Gilbert Bloomer was in the Ist Battalion Royal Australian Regiment in Korea. He went to Korea when he was 17 and he said he was known as a bub- this was in 1954. However his service record says he joined in 3 feb 1956 and left in March 24 1956. My family have many photos of him in both Korea and Japan. Does anyone remember being with him in Korea?

What is the Title of your Web Site: Australian Peacekeeping Memorial Project A Description of your Web Site: To erect a Memorial in Canberra by Australian Peacekeepers Day on the 14th September 2012 that appropriately recognizes the sacrifice and continuing contribution of Australians to international pea How did you find this Web Site? link from Australian Peacekeeper and Peacemaker Veterans Association (APPVA) I am interested in commemorating Australia's contributions to Peacekeeping and the support to Korea was one of the first Australia undertook. I am part of the Australian Peacekeeping Memorial Project Committee (www.peacekeepingmemorial.org.au) and we are trying to raise funds to build a national memorial to Australia's Peacekeepers on Anzac Parade in Canberra. We have the site reserved, the design, the contracts, the governance and the prototyping done. All we need is one good benefactor or many smaller ones to provide the funds to build it. Any suggestions you may have would be welcome. Yours sincerely, Fred McArdle National Office Manager Australian Peacekeeping Memorial Project secretariat @peacekeepingmemorial.org.au

Best Regards to all veterans. My uncle, Leonard Pennant # 3410113, 2nd RAR was awarded the Military Medal in Korea. Like a lot of our returned service people Len had a fairly challenging time after returning and eventually ended up caretaking at Nui Dat House Gold Coast, Qld. for some time until finally spending his last year or so living in the care of my brother in Rutherglen Vic. My family has a strong military history of which I have made sure that my children are fully aware of and that they are proud to ensure that all of our service people are remembered and respected always. I was hoping that there is the facility for family members of Veterans to be able to have some type of membership as a KVAA supporter or be able to purchase some item from your product range that is specific to veterans supporters. Many Thanks and Best Regards To All

Has anyone any info about it ? I also have a photo of couple of Aussie lads with whom I spent a brief time with. Would you be interested in them ? I was a British RMP '52 to '53. The TAC sign on one of your phots on the truck is correct. 68 was the Royal Artillery. I still have all the TAC signs of the regiments etc, in the Fort George area.

What is the Title of your Web Site: Arcimedia A Description of your Web Site: Kapyong and the battle that took place. A film. How did you find this Web Site? KWV Hello, I am an associate of Arcimedia, we are a very small production company in Melbourne, Australia. We recently completed a documentary entitled "Kapyong" which is a film all about the battle of Kapyong from the perspective of the Australians, Canadians, New Zealanders and Korean soldiers. Our aim is to have as many vets as possible view this film, thus, I was hoping that it may be possible to have a link to our website added to your site. Our website is www.arcimedia.com.au If you click on the films tab there is a promo video for Kapyong and people are able to purchase it at our store.

Joined the army in 1950 and after recruit training was posted to 2nd Bn RAR. After much training as a rifle man in B Coy, then MMG Platoon, then HQ Coy, then to the Anti tank platoon all in 2 Bn, was then posted overseas to Japan. After mucking around in Japan for 3 months I eventually reached the ripe old age of nineteen years and nine months so was posted to 3 Bn. Served with Anti Tank Platoon, Support Coy., Joined the platoon March 1952 and left the platoon November 1952. During my time with the platoon I was given the job as platoon sig. With a little knowledge of morse and radio proceedures from my time in the Victorian Railways, I found that I could do an OK job. I am very happy that we have a site that can help us remember our days over there and our mates.

How did you find this Web Site? A copy of the Voice My father Brian Price passed away on 18th February 2010, I would like to thank the KVA for being at my Father's funeral and giving him a wonderful send off. He would have been so proud of the guard of honour and the service at the graveside. My family and I appreciated everything you did, Dad had many friends at KVA and he always spoke of the friendships he had made in Korea and after. Thankyou once again. With sincere thanks.
